WF-AID is pleased to announce the appointment of Madiha Raza, who joins as Head of WF-AID.
Madiha brings a wealth of humanitarian experience to the role, specifically within international development, where she has worked with a variety of international NGOs, including United Nations Association, Islamic Relief, Malaria Consortium, Swedish Development Advisers and presently, Muslim Aid.
In addition, Madiha has valuable on-the-ground experience and has visited many countries affected by war, disease or natural disaster. She recently returned from Bangladesh, where she delivered aid to thousands of persecuted Rohingya Muslims who fled Myanmar due to on-going violence.
Shan E Abbas Hassam, Secretary General of The World Federation, commented:
“We’re delighted to welcome Madiha to the WF-AID team. She will no doubt add incredible value to the work that we do. She has impressive experience in humanitarian work and she joins the organisation during an exciting time as we look to expand both the work we do and the countries we operate in. I’m confident she will help take WF-AID forward through her excellent leadership and under her progressive vision.”
Madiha is based in London and completed her Bachelor’s degree in International Politics and her Masters in International Development. Over the years, she has volunteered with The World Federation and was Head of the Stanmore Jafferys ladies relief team. During her time with Stanmore Jafferys, she worked on a number of initiatives to raise funds for The World Federation.
Madiha adds: “I’m honoured to be given this opportunity and I’m also so excited to join a team of people who are infectiously passionate about making a difference to those less fortunate than us. The progressive vision of those I’ve already spoken to is exactly what is needed to help make a sustainable impact and work towards eradicating poverty both in our own community and with those in need across the globe. I can’t wait to get involved with the team in further serving humanity, insha’Allah.”
